Jackson Audio overdrive Broken Arrow Midi Black
The Broken Arrow is a very flexible overdrive with 4 clipping presets, an innovative gain feature called Gain Cycle and active 3-band EQ. In addition to that, it has a boost circuit of the same type as the Mosfet boost circuit of the Prism preamp, one of the most famous pedals of the brand. The Broken Arrow's boost circuit is a noise-free Mosfet transistor and is in its own true bypass loop so it can be used independently of the Drive circuit. There are 4 boost presets available, which can be activated after a long press on the footswitch. Each preset has a slightly different EQ to allow it to alter the way it interacts with the overdrive circuit or any other pedal. An internal selector allows you to choose an alternative version of the boost to the Mosfet which will give a little more gain but will produce cracking noises. The Broken Arrow's overdrive circuit is a smooth clipping circuit designed in the same vein as the TS-808 but without the typical high bump and its tone is relatively flat. It has 4 different diode clipping presets, which can be activated after a long press: - 1-Green: Classic Screamer. 2 symmetrical silicon diodes give the classic saturation and compression typical of Tube Screamer. - 2-Magenta: Asymmetric clipping. 3 unbalanced silicon diodes clip the high and low portions of your guitar waveform to give a more complex sound, perfect for aggressive rhythm parts. - 3-Blue: Symmetrical clipping. 4 symmetrical silicon diodes clip the high and low portions of your guitar waveform for a more focused and direct sound. - 4-Amber: Vintage Marshall. 2 red diodes are used to symmetrically and evenly clip the high and low portions of your guitar waveform. The diodes give a lot more dynamics to give a more open and less compressed sound, like a vintage Marshall. A unique circuit allows the output level of the pedal to be matched to the selected clipping, so the volume remains constant regardless of the clipping you choose. The Gain Cycle function takes the position of the Gain control, which sets the maximum gain, and divides it into 4 equal parts, then each time you press both footswitches simultaneously, the gain increases by 25% up to 100%, then again at 25%, etc. The Drive diode changes intensity according to the percentage of gain chosen. - Soft clipping overdrive circuit with 4 presets. - Output level harmonization circuit for all overdrive presets. - Gain Cycle from 0% to 100% of the Gain setting in 4 steps of 25% each. - Mosfet transistor boost with 4 presets. - Internal standard or modified boost selector. - Studio quality equalization based on the legendary Baxandall EQ, with high bandwidth and ± 12dB per setting. - MIDI function - new in 2020!
