Jackson Audio overdrive Golden Boy

In 2019, Joey Landreth of the Bros. Landreth approached Jackson Audio about a signature pedal. Joey was already playing a Broken Arrow but he wasn't really a Tube Screamer user so he was wondering if Jackson Audio could make him a pedal that would have the same architecture as the Broken Arrow but that would be designed instead of. after a Bluesbreaker or King of Tone circuit. The Golden Boy is the result of this conversation. As the Golden Boy is designed after the Bluesbreaker / King of Tone circuit, its grain is very open, non-squeezing and transparent. As bizarre as it sounds, Brad Jackson had never played on a Bluesbreaker circuit before playing on the Golden Boy prototype and he was won over! The Golden Boy with a Strat and a Fender amp gives pure John Mayer! And Brad now understands why so many musicians love this circuit. It goes perfectly in the mix and although it adds saturation and bite, your guitar still sounds great! The difference between the Golden Boy and other Bluesbreaker type circuits is that its saturation has a much higher gain. This higher gain combined with the Mosfet boost, clipping options in the overdrive circuit and the Gain Cycle function developed by Jackson Audio make the Golden Boy a most versatile and flexible transparent overdrive pedal!
