The Clover Preamp / Booster is a faithful interpretation of the 1984 Boss FA-1 FET preamp but with several additional features that make it an even better circuit. There are 3 EQ settings to boost or cut bass, midrange and treble, and a rotary switch has 3 positions: Full EQ, No Mid and No EQ. In Full EQ mode, the 3 controls operate on all available equalization. In No Mid mode, it is the exact replica of the FA-1 by removing the possibility of adjusting the mids which are on a fixed setting. In No EQ mode, all EQ settings are removed and the Clover only acts as a FET booster, perfect for pushing an amp. On the right side is a Low Cut selector which removes some bass to help pop out of the mix. In addition to the jack input and output, the Clover has an XLR output for use as a preamp for acoustics or bass. These outputs can be used individually or simultaneously if you want to connect to a console or interface, as well as an amplifier.
