The Plasma Rack is a high quality audio effects processor in 1U rack format for professional and studio use. Basically, it's a unique high-voltage distortion concept, a whole new way of processing the analog signal developed in 2018 by Gamechanger Audio. Using a high voltage transformer, the Plasma Rack transforms your instrument's signal into a series of rapid electrical discharges in a xenon filled lamp. These powerful discharges (up to 5,000 volts) are then picked up by a specially designed electromagnetic receiver and converted back into an audio signal. This results in extremely heavy distortion which saturates the sound and gives a lot of harmonics. The harmonics produced, created as a derivative of high voltage discharge, are quite original in the field of traditional signal amplification, so Plasma distortion is unique and unlike anything you have heard before. now. The way the Plasma Rack reacts to different instruments and sound sources simply cannot be reproduced with any analog machines, plugins and digital models. • 3 Band EQ Gives you more control over key Plasma frequencies (10Hz, -20 to 20dB Low Pass Shelving Filter, 600Hz, -6 to 6dB, 20kHz, -10 to 10dB High Pass Shelving Filter). • Input gain control Can be used to adjust the Plasma Rack for any type of input signal (like different mics, for example). Preamp from -26dB to + 12dB. • Sustain mode Built-in adaptive compressor that allows the lamp output of the plasma to be extended with low voltage settings. The result is an unpredictable and extraordinary effect. • Oversaturate Mode Higher octave / harmonic effect obtained by overloading the Plasma lamp. This gives attack to the notes and big octavia-like high harmonics. • Clean Gate Mode Use Plasma's tube gate effect on any clean signal without adding saturation. Perfect for percussive instruments or for pushing the reverbs and creating a bit crush effect. • Tremolo / Ringmod A very special tremolo circuit that takes full advantage of the sudden bursts of the Plasma lamp. • Built-in Distortion Channel Plasma sound mixes very well with classic op-amp overdrive, so Plasma gives you access to a built-in distortion circuit to create huge sound instantly. The Clean Gate setting applies the tube gate effect to the saturated channel. • 3 effects loops with switchable level control Modify the signal path by inserting external effects or plugins into different parts of the Plasma signal chain. FX LOOP 1 - affects only the original signal. FX LOOP 2 - affects the effect only, before going into the Plasma lamp. FX LOOP 3 - only affects the effect, after the Plasma lamp. • Connections Inputs: 1 unbalanced jack input (instrument), 1 combo jack / balanced XLR input (with pad) Outputs: 1 balanced XLR and 1 unbalanced jack. MIDI: In, Thru, Out. • MIDI control + 8 preset locations Control all parameters and values via CC messages and Program Change messages. The Plasma Rack also has 8 preset locations for storing your sounds, including states and values of settings.
