The Afterneath Eurorack Module brings the sounds of the stompbox world to your modular synth and with even more advanced functionality. The Afterneath Module has a main audio input, a main audio output, an audio send and return for the Reflect feedback path and 9 settings. 4 of the parameters are controllable by CV and are equipped with a dedicated inversion attenuator. The Afterneath Module has a fully analog original signal path and a fully digital effect path. The Afterneath Module adds functionality to the now famous Afterneath pedal with CV control of Diffuse, Length and Drag settings. The all new CV-controllable Mode parameter changes the way the Drag responds to changes in setting and CV. When you adjust the Drag with the tuning or by CV, you will notice a change in character, fidelity and length of the effect. There is also a change in pitch for the sound of the buffer. As with the Afterneath pedal, high settings of Reflect and Length will result in self-oscillation, where the pitch of the oscillation is set by the Drag. There are 9 modes which determine the behavior of the Drag and its effect on the pitch of the sound of the buffer: 1) Non-quantized: smooth and non-quantized response over the entire operating range. 2) Non-quantized with variation: smooth, non-quantized response over the entire operating range but with musical variation similar to the varispeed setting of a vintage English tape delay. The Drag will shift behind any setting or CV changes, then quickly catch up with the shift. 3) Unquantized Volt / Octave: smooth and unquantized but made to line up with the 1v / octave curve to allow melodic modulation of the audio in the buffer or self-oscillation frequency control such as a voltage controlled oscillator. 4) Chromatic scale: 1v / octave quantization to the chromatic scale. 5) Major scale: 1v / octave quantization at the major scale. 6) Minor scale: 1v / octave quantization to the minor scale. 7) Pentatonic scale: 1v / octave quantization at the pentatonic scale. 8) Octaves & fifths: 1v / octave quantization to omit everything except octaves and fifths. 9) Octaves: 1v / octave quantization to omit everything except octaves. Beyond delay and reverb effects with modulation, Modes 3-9 increase the possibility of using the Afterneath Module as a superb CV controlled oscillator. Another new feature found only in the Afterneath Module is a switch to mute the original sound, perfect if you are using the module as an effect send from your console or DAW. Finally, the Afterneath Module has Reflect Send and Reflect Return jacks, which not only provide access to the Reflect feedback path but also achieve a phenomenal pseudo-stereo effect. In addition to routing from the main output, you can also route from the Reflect Send (for example, using the main output for your left channel and the Reflect Send for the right one). This results in a wide, immersive and ambient stereo image. This is useful when you are using the plug-in as an effect send for your synth, mixer, or DAW. The Reflect Return jack can be used as an additional audio input. The Reflect setting will then act as an attenuator for any signal that is routed into the Reflect jack.
